Manipal Academy of Higher Education
Tucked away in the rocky hinterland of the picturesque Malabar Coast of Southwest India, Manipal is alive with the electric reverberations of minds at work. It is the nucleus of 53 Educational Institutes.

The ambition of the founder, Mr. T.M.A Pai to see a multi-dimensional education centre has seen fruition with the development of this bustling township which is renowned as an International University Town. Manipal is a Centre of Learning with a host of educational, medical, banking and industrial enterprises of national repute.

Manipal has seen more than 20,000 students graduate and has an ever increasing enrollment number of more than 30,000 students. The township of Manipal comprises of two universities, 27, professional colleges, affiliated institutes and numerous primary and high schools. Thousands of students study in Manipal institutions situated in Sikkim, Mangalore, Nepal, Malaysia and Dubai.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) was born when the Professional Colleges were granted University status in July; 1993.MAHE was the first institute in the private sector to be recognized as a Deemed University by the Government of India.

Manipals’ affiliation with other centers of learning across the globe has facilitated the exchange of knowledge and culture via their student and faculty exchange programs. The Twinning Programs, where the student completes the first two years of education at Manipal and then is transferred to the USA or Australian affiliated universities to complete the course, are also extremely popular. The degree is then awarded by that foreign university.

Students from over 32 countries worldwide come seeking education in this culturally diverse institute. Degrees from Manipal are recognized in over 40 countries, making it a Mecca of educational services.
