G.Kuppuswamy Naidu College Charity Trust for Education and Medical relief, Coimbatore , started this college at Kovilpatti in the Year 1966. The College is named after the great person G.VenkataSwamy Naidu , brother of G.Kuppuswamy Naidu. It was initially started with P.u.c Courses and affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. It was inaugurated by Mr.N.Baktavatchalam , the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu on 30.6.1966.The College was upgraded to a first grade college by starting B.Sc. Mathematics in the year 1967-68. Further affiliations were obtained during the academic year 1972-73 to start B.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Botany) and B.Com. The College was made Co-educational in the year 1976-77. The College was further upgraded in to a Post Graduate institution by Starting M.Sc Mathematics in the year 1990-91.The Management decided to start job oriented vocational courses one after another. As per the Government policy, these courses were started as Self-Financing Courses from the academic year 1994-1995 onwards.
