Admission offers to B.Tech (Industrial Biotechnology) through
Entrance Exam, conducted by JNU, New Delhi at Bangalore, Kolkata,
Coimbatore, Chennai, Trichy, Hyderabad, Madurai, Mumbai, and New
Delhi during Apirl. The Above programme is offered at the following
constituent institutions of Anna University.

Eligibility: Candidates who have completed
or are appearing for HSC Examination under 10+2 stream of its
equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology
are eligible to appear for the Entrance Examination with specified
percentage of marks which ranges between a minimum 55% marks in
individual subjects and 60% in aggregate of Physics & Chemistry
and Maths or Biology. This condition does not apply to SC/ST candidates.

Age Limit: Candidates should not have
completed 21 years of age as July 1 of the year of admission.
The age limit is relaxed by 3 years in the cases of SC / ST and
by 5 years for physically handicapped candidates. (No Upper limit
for SC/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu).
Selection: Candidates are selected on
the basis of their performance in the qualifying exam in the concerned
subjects and the entrance test conducted by JNU, New Delhi adopting
the weightage of 200:100 respectively.
Reservation: Besides reservation for
SC/ST etc. reservations are also made for canidates sponsored
by members of industrial consortium and for candidates belonging
to states other than Tamil Nadu.
Note: A few states are set apart for
candidates to be sponsored by large industrial houses interested
in the development of Biotechnology. Sponsoring Agents shouls
be members of Consortium. Sponsored candidates should also appear
for the Entrance Exam. details regarding sponsorship can be obtained
from the Director, Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University,
Chennai - 600025, by the industry and not by the individual. Application
form can be had from Canara Bank, Anna University on payment of
requisite charges or from the Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University
on production of a Demand Draft. Application forms can also be
had by Post by sending a requistion in a cover addressed to "The
Director Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University, Chennai -
600025" along with the Demand Draft for prescribed charges
and a self addressed envelop of size 30X12.5 cms.

Eligibility: A pass in diploma Examination of State Board
of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu in the relevant branch or specialisation
or any other Diploma already recognised by Anna University as
equivalent. The candidates should have qualified for the diploma
before 3 years. He must be a permanent / regular employee in the
relevant field in a recognised industry or organisation or self-employed
as described in the information booklet. He must be working within
65kms. distance by road from Anna University main campus.
Age Limit: Below 45 years as on 1st
January of the year of admission.
Entrance Examination: Appearance and
obtaining a score in the Entrance Examination to be conducted
by Anna University for the purpose.
Selection Procedure: Candidates for
admission to B.E. (part-time) Degree Programme are selected based
on (a) the marks in the Entrance Examination to be conducted by
Anna University for this purpose and (b) the marks for their practical
experience, adopting the proportion of weightage as 70.30 respectively.
